The Schooner Fame – September 5th - Ken and Barbara Bourque will be leading a tour to Salem where we will have breakfast at Red’s and then board the Schooner Fame for a cruise of historic Salem Sound. The Fame is a replica of the successful privateer of the same name from the War of 1812. The original Fame was a fishing schooner that was reborn as a privateer when war broke out in the summer of 1812. She was notably the first American privateer to bring home a prize, and she made 20 more captures before being wrecked in the Bay of Fundy in 1814.
The new Fame is a full-scale replica of this famous schooner constructed of trunnel-fastened white oak in the traditional manner. She was first launched in 2003. Aboard the new Fame, we will learn about the fishermen, pirates, privateers, traders and men of war who shaped Massachusett’s North Shore. This tour will depart from the Endicott Estate at 10:30 AM on Sunday, September 5th. Participants will be responsible for $10 of the cruise cost and the cost of their breakfast. This is sure to be a memorable adventure for the entire family.

The Colonial Inn Tour – September 19th - The Bourque’s have been busy this year planning back to back events. On Sunday September 19th they will lead us on a tour of historic Concord where we will be visiting some of the legendary sites. Family Fun Day – October 17th - Chris and Laura Milici have planned a fun filled day at Capron Park in Attleboro for the young and the young at heart. With its award-winning playground and xciting educational programs, the Park is sure to delight each and every family member. We have two meeting locations for this event – the Endicott Estate, 653 East Street in Dedham and the lower MBTA parking lot (behind Dunkin’ Donuts – 134 Main Street) in Norfolk. We will travel country roads through Massachusetts and Rhode Island, leaving Dedham at 9:30 and Norfolk at 10:30.
